This is the 8th Annual Exposure Skate event. All-female skateboarding event with world-class riders, organized by Esposure Skate, a non-profit organization that raises awareness throughout the community and donates a portion of their proceeds to local victims of domestic violence.
Each year, Exposure presents Exposure: A Women’s Benefit Event to bring opportunity and visibility to women who embody courage and strength. Over 170 female skaters from around the world come to Encinitas, California (near San Diego) for the opportunity to share their skateboarding skills on a global stage. The event also serves as a benefit for survivors of domestic violence.

Vans Off the Wall Skatepark in Huntington Beach will feature 200 top female skateboarders from around the globe competing for a $65,000 prize purse in the 8th annual Exposure: A Women’s Benefit Event on Saturday, November 2.
Two-hundred top female skateboarders from around the globe will compete for a $65,000 purse Saturday at Vans Off the Wall Skatepark in Huntington Beach in the eighth annual Exposure benefit for Human Options, an Orange County nonprofit that serves victims of domestic violence.
MANILA, Philippines — Margielyn Didal has further cemented her status as the heavy favorite in the upcoming 30th Southeast Asian Games after dominating two separate international skateboarding events over the weekend in California, USA.
This year, was a special year in women’s skateboarding in general. It’s the year that skateboarding contests really started to “mean” something due to Olympic qualifying events. We’ve seen an insane amount of talented women coming from all over the world to compete in these events. However, long before the Olympics were on the horizon for skateboarding, Amelia Brodka saw a lack in exposure for women skateboarders and sought to fix that with the Exposure contest and non-profit.
For the eighth year running Exposure brought together skateboarders from around the world for the largest international women’s skateboard contest.
This year they switched things up a bit and moved from their usual location in Encinitas to the Vans off the Wall Skatepark in Huntington Beach. The prize purse hit a record high of $60k but even with so much money on the line, the contest was still the heart-warming display of camaraderie and stoke that we’ve come to expect from this event.
THE EIGHTH ANNUAL EXPOSURE OPEN brought women from around the world not just to compete, but to support one another. Across ages and places, Exposure highlights the friendship that skateboarding fosters, and the incredible positivity that women’s skateboarding enables.
An epic women’s skate event for a good cause and some serious prize money, Exposure goes down this Saturday Nov. 2nd at the Vans HB park.

Established in 2012, EXPOSURE® is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to empowering women, Trans & Non-Binary individuals through skateboarding. We create opportunities by organizing events and programs that provide Professional and Amateur skateboarding competitions, learn-to-skate clinics, community service learning, and wellness education.
