Donate to the Otis Barthoulameu Fund! Even if you didn’t know Otis Barthoulameu, you were never more than two or three degrees from him. If you are a skater or have ever been to a punk show, then “O” helped shape your world, whether you knew it or not. O passed away in February 2023 after a day doing what he loved most—skateboarding with his friends. Continue O’s legacy of supporting the growth of women’s skateboarding with a gift to Exposure Skate. Donations made in O’s memory through this page will help girls get started on their journey through skateboarding with safe, supportive programming and will also support emerging female competitors. FOR SURVIVORS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Exposure presents Exposure: A Women’s Benefit Event to (bring opportunity and visibility to women, trans and nonbinary skaters who have been historically disempowered in the skateboarding community. Each year, over 170 skaters from across the country and around the world come to southern California for the opportunity to share their skateboarding skills on a global stage. The beneficiaries of our proceeds are the Community Resource Center (CRC) and their constituencies who provide support and resources for survivors of domestic violence, an issue which disproportionately impacts the same marginalized communities we serve. Since the flagship Exposure event in 2012, we have seen a 42% increase in our donation to survivors. Exposure’s goal is to continue to provide valuable programs and events for all ages that create a culture of empowerment, empathy and service as well as enrich the quality of life for all in our orbit.
