We were really blown away by 13 year old Momiji Nishiya’s performance during the Olympic Games in Tokyo! Momiji brought home the world’s first-ever Olympic Skateboarding Women’s Street Gold Medal, making her hometown of Osaka, Japan very proud We are so proud to call Momiji an “Olympian of Exposure” as we got to know her in our Virtual Exposure 2020 contest last year.
We have to say that we weren’t really surprised by Momiji’s amazing Olympic runs and best tricks, because we awarded her Second Place last year in our Virtual Exposure 2020 Best Video, Street Ages 15 & Under event. It was our first look at Momiji, and we are thrilled to watch her continued success! Congratulations, Momiji!
Another of our favorite Exposure riders, Margielyn Arda Didal of Cebu City, Philippines, once again showed us (and the world) her killer street style and amazing attitude, while grabbing an Olympic Silver Medal in the process. Margie continually winds up on the podium at our Exposure events, and we knew that she was one to watch from our first meeting at Exposure 2018. Get it, Margie!
We also knew that Funa Nakayama has something very special, and are happy that she shared the podium with teammate Momiji and Margielyn– as Funa took home the Olympic Bronze! Funa first participated in Exposure during our Virtual 2020 contest, facing some formidable and well-established street skaters in the agesn15-29 division– including Margielyn!
We were so proud to see all three of these women on the Olympic Podium.
